Thought I would try something with a bit more of a New Zealand feel to it, so did this image of a Maori woman with some of the traditional clothing worn (with a little artistic license. Aoatea means Dawn or daybreak in english.

This is a continuation of the Helena image. On the outside the image is about death collecting the souls of the dead from wars of the past. A deeper meaning can be found from this image. I have mine and I encourage you to find your own version.

This image was a bit of a test for me as I wanted to go for a more realistic look rather than the cartoony style I am used to doing. I had to take a different approach not only on the technical side, but also in tackling any problems that I came across. This image was initially a rough pencil sketch that I decided to take through to a finished painting. It was a test for me in a range of areas from technique and style, through to setting a mood that would be easily read by viewers. There were a few areas that caused me a few headaches but I guess that comes with the territory.
